A few words from Gayle

I was born and raised in Alberta and moved to Holberg, BC in 1980. Since that time I have lived on the northern end of Vancouver Island with my husband of 34 years. During my time in Holberg, I worked at the Commissary, drove the Holberg Limo and the school bus to Winter Harbour part time. I moved into Port Hardy in 1989 and started working for Ed Rebus, C.A. where I received the beginning of my bookkeeping training. I learned a lot in my 5 years of public practise but decided the private sector was more to my liking. I worked at Lukwa Mills for 10 years as office manager. There I learned about the custom cut sawmill industry and totally enjoyed the people I worked with as well as the business itself. I then went to work at Marine Harvest (formerly Pan Fish; formerly Alpha Processing) in the office first in accounts payable, then finishing off in Logistics/Supplies and Production Reporting. I had been there for 8-1/2 years when the downturn in global economics meant I was laid off. I was very fortunate to have found this job at Quatsino First Nations Economic Development Corp in a comparatively short period of time. I think this job is going to be challenging but at the same time exciting. In my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle, reading and crocheting (of course not all at the same time).
