What this course means to me

This course opens doors to so much more out there in the working world. When the course is passed and you attain the certification you can work anywhere in Canada. If you find the right company your opportunity can be opened to the rest of the world. if this lifestyle doesn't suit you and you are a family person, you can also start your own company.

What this Heavy Equipment Operator Training course that, Quatsino First Nation, PRESS and Vanasep are providing means to me
This course is providing me with knowledge and skills that will help me to find a long term career.
Some of the skills that were taught, included occupational first aide level one, Workplace Hazardous Materials information System (WHMIS), Confined space awareness, Lockout awareness, fall protection and traffic control person. Each of these courses were offered through TRAUMATECH. These programs were very well taught and gave me an understanding of what is required to be a safe and productive worker. The HEO course is really informative and interesting to me. This information is helping me figure out what kind of career I would like to enter, for example I could be an excavator operator, dump truck driver etc.
By the end of this course I hope to operate and maintain most Heavy construction equipment.
In conclusion, I would like to thank everyone that made it possible for me to take this course.

I feel this HEO course will be a great opportunity to further my experience in forestry and build on my skills. I feel with the knowledge that I will gain through this course and the broader picture of how safety is applied it will be a great asset to me in the future as well as my family, future employers and even my community.
